Classic car towing with a flatbed and a careful hand

A classic or collector car isn't a normal tow. Original paint, chrome bumpers, low ride height and decades-old suspension all need a gentler approach. We arrange flatbed transport for classic, vintage, collector and exotic cars around Lake Tahoe and Reno, and route each job to a licensed local operator.

Whether the car won't start in the garage, needs to get to a show, or is heading to a restoration shop, tell us what you're moving and where, and we'll set up the right truck.

How we move classic and exotic cars

  • Flatbed transport: all four wheels ride on the deck, with no wear on the drivetrain or tires during the trip.
  • Soft straps and wheel nets: ask for tire-based tie-downs that keep hooks and chains off the frame, suspension and finish.
  • Low-clearance loading: tell us the ground clearance and we'll plan a gentle approach so splitters, exhausts and oil pans don't scrape.
  • Non-running cars: project cars and barn finds can be winched onto the bed slowly and carefully.
  • Photos on request: ask the operator for pickup and delivery photos for your records.

Car shows, auctions, restoration shops and storage

Summer brings busy car-show season to Reno, including the Hot August Nights season, plus cruises and meets around the lake. We schedule moves to and from shows, auctions, restoration and body shops, upholstery and paint shops, winter storage, and private sales. Booking a few days ahead helps during the busiest weeks.

Mountain passes and winter

Getting a classic in or out of the Tahoe Basin means mountain grades on US-50 over Echo Summit, I-80 over Donner Summit, Highway 89 and the Mt. Rose Highway. In winter, storms and chain controls can close or slow these routes, and road salt and slush are hard on older cars. For a scheduled move, we'll help you pick a clear-weather window. If your classic broke down in the snow, call and we'll find the soonest safe option.

Classic car towing FAQ

Do you tow classic and collector cars around Lake Tahoe and Reno?

Yes. We arrange flatbed transport for classic, vintage, collector and exotic cars across the Lake Tahoe Basin, Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Truckee and the Carson Valley. Call (916) 494-8868 to set it up.

Why a flatbed instead of a regular tow?

A flatbed carries the whole car with all four wheels off the road, so there's no wear on the drivetrain, suspension or tires during the trip. That's the safer choice for older and higher-value cars.

How is the car secured?

Ask for soft straps or wheel nets when you book. These hold the car by the tires instead of hooking to the frame or suspension, which helps protect paint, chrome and undercarriage.

My car sits very low. Can it still be loaded?

Tell us the make, model and approximate ground clearance when you call. Low cars need a gentle approach angle, and we'll route the job to an operator who can load it carefully.

Can you move a car to a car show, auction or restoration shop?

Yes. Scheduled moves to shows, auctions, restoration and body shops, storage, or a new owner are a good fit. Book ahead during busy summer car-show season in Reno.

Do you tow classic cars in winter or over the mountain passes?

Often, yes, but winter storms and chain controls on routes like US-50, I-80 and Highway 89 can delay trips. For a non-running classic, we may suggest waiting for a clear weather window.
